Lydgate Beach Park and Kamalani playground is once again open to the public. However the Kauai County Department of Parks and Recreation reports Morgan’s Pond will remain closed until further notice. News outlets report Lydgate Beach Park was closed because of safety concerns following flooding April 12th. Department director Pat Porter said Hawaii Department of Health Officials deemed the area safe after it was cleaned and maintained by county crews.
