Nearly 17 million dollars will fund a variety of projects on Kauai.  The money will go toward efforts including the Kauai war Memorial Convention Hall, an educational center at the Kawaiele State Waterbird Sanctuary, affordable housing, and a fern propogation lab at the National Tropical Botanical Garden.  Senator Brian Schatz, chair of the U.S. Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Housing and Urban Development, says the money will mean more safe and affordable homes and stronger, more resilient infrastructure for the people of Kauai.
