The Lihue Business Association held a meeting over Zoom Thursday to discuss a new airport plan. One thing that needs to happen according to officials is that runways need to be shifted away from the ocean to comply with new FAA guidelines. Also, the request for three new gates is said to cut down on planes waiting on the tarmac. Parking issues are being addressed as well. The planning is still in the early stages.
