Repairs to Yasutake Bridge on Kamalu Road in Wailua have been completed. According to Kauai Now, the scope of work included the installation of a 60-foot Acrow bridge, signs, speed-calming devices and additional paving work, according to county officials. County officials had closed the bridge in June, based on safety concerns with critical scour conditions that affected the bridge’s foundation. County consultants Consor Engineers conducted dive inspections of Yasutake Bridge and found further scouring of the bridge. Following assessment, the engineering consultant recommended that the bridge remain closed until the temporary bridge was in place.
