Due to recent avian flu detection in livestock on the mainland, the Hawaii Department of Agriculture has restricted the transport of cattle from affected areas. Currently HPAI has been detected in dairy cattle in Texas, Kansas, New Mexico, Michigan, and Idaho. The CDC currently considers effects on human health as low risk in those areas where HPAI infections have occurred.
