The percentage of COVID cases involving people previously infected is growing according to the Hawaii Department of Health. Officials say the reinfection rate accounts for about 10 percent of new confirmed cases. There have been just under 11 thousand reinfections throughout the state since September 2020 when the first reinfection was recorded. The 10 thousand 995 reinfections represent just over three percent of the total number of cases statewide.
