The Hawaii Transportation Department has received a more 300 thousand dollar grant toward building a plastic recycling research facility. The competitive grant is part of the FAA’s Climate Change Initiative. HDOT plans to combine the 312 thousand dollars with other funding sources to fund the first-of-its-kind facility in Hawaii.
