An analysis recently published by Consumer Affairs found that Hawaii had the worst roads in America in 2022.  The publication labeled Hawaii as having the second worst roads the year before.  The most recent Infrastructure Report Card from the American Society of Civil Engineers, released in 2019, graded the Aloha State at a D-plus.  TRIP, a nonprofit that researches surface transportation,  says 69% of Hawaii’s major roads are in “poor to mediocre” condition, and drivers spend an average of over 800 dollars per person, per year, on wear, extra fuel, and repairs caused by driving on worn down roads.
