Math and reading scores for 4th and 8th graders nationwide were released by the National Assessment of Educational Progress. Commonly referred to as the nation’s report card, this year’s scores showed significant drop offs across the country in reading and math scores. In Hawaii, 4th graders performed above national averages in reading and math, while 8th graders performed at the national level in reading while slipping below the national average in math.
