Firefighters rescued a New York woman on the Kalalau Trail Sunday. First responders got report of a hiker with an apparent head injury near the trail around 1:30 Sunday afternoon. Hanalei fire crews responded and found the woman below the trail being attended to by other hikers. The hiker reportedly fell 60 feet off of the trail and injured her head. She declined medical transport to the hospital and was released.
