Kauai Hotels generated solid numbers in the first full month of summer, as hotel occupancy came in at nearly 80 percent while the average cost for a room was nearly unchanged.
The average daily rate slipped to $453 in July, according to the Hawaii Hotel Performance Report published monthly by the Hawaii Tourism Authority. That total was off 0.3 percent from July 2023, but up a robust 50.5 percent from pre-pandemic July 2019.
Total occupancy weighed in at 79 percent, which was up 5.5 percent from July 2023 and 2.3 percent from July 2019
