The Hawaii Department of Agriculture is looking for proposals from nonprofits to deal with invasive bugs and green waste management support. Officials say Coconut rhinoceros beetles are attacking various plants and green waste is a primary breeding ground for the insect. About 200 thousand dollars is available for projects to manage green waste, broken into five rewards with a maximum of 40 thousand dollars each.
