The Hawaii state House Committee on Finance will not deliberate a measure that would legalize marijuana use for adults in the islands. That essentially kills the bill for this legislative session. Representative Kyle Yamashita represents Upcountry Maui and is chairman of the committee. He says during such a fiscally challenging year, they must prioritize addressing wild-fire related expenses in the wake of last August’s Lahaina tragedy.
