It’s the year of the forest birds, according to the mayor. Kauai mayor Derek Kawakami, presented a mayoral proclamation to the Kauai Forest Bird Recovery Project, marking “Year of the Forest Birds.” Governor Josh Green had made a similar proclamation back in January.
