The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands is asking the public to provide comment for an annual report to the U.S. Office of Housing and Urban Development.  According to Kauai Now, DHHL is seeking comment on its fiscal year 2021-22 expenditures of the Native Hawaiian Housing Plan and Annual Performance Report under the Native American Housing Assistance and Self Determination Act. The report will be finalized and submitted to HUD by August 29th.

The U.S. house has approved 8.8 million dollars in funding for several community projects throughout the second congressional district of Hawaii.  Officials say the projects will benefit the underserved communities and provide much needed funding to nonprofits.  1.2 million dollars will go to the Wailua/Kapa’a Wastewater Collection System Inspection.
