A seven-year-old monk seal was returned to Kauai waters after being treated at the Kona mammal hospital. The female known as RH38 was first seen in the waters around Kauai acting unusually lethargic this past June. Authorities called the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration and Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources. RH38 reportedly suffered from kidney stones, possible pneumonia, and an infected fractured canine tooth.
