Recreational Use Public Hearing

A public hearing is being held this morning on the issue of recreational marijuana.  The State Senate is set to take up the matter during a joint Health and Human Services and Judiciary committees meeting.  Senate Bill 3335 legalizes adult-use cannabis and establishes the Hawaii cannabis Authority and Cannabis Control Board to regulate all aspects of the cannabis plant within the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs.  If the measure passes, the bill would become law starting in January 2026.
