AARP Hawaii is accepting nominations for the 2022 Andrus Award for Community Service. Every year volunteers that are 50 and older are recognized for their experience, skills, and talent. Nominations are available online and the deadline is September 1st with the award set to be presented in early fall. Winners will receive a crystal award, a one thousand dollar donation to a nonprofit of their choice on behalf of AARP and a luncheon in their honor.
COVID cases in the county and state continue to trickle down according to the latest numbers. The Garden Isle’s seven-day average was 24 cases last week, down from 27 the week before. The average statewide is down one, from 574 to 573.
