Wastewater spill notice for Hana Road in Hanapēpē
The Hanapēpē Fire Station sewer pump station has encountered a major leak in its force main, which started at about 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct.23.
The spill is channeled to Hana Road, which will be closed until the area is adequately disinfected and signs are installed. Sewer trucks will be used to bypass the pump station through the night, and construction work will commence tomorrow morning.
Currently, the County estimates the wastewater spill to be about 50,000 gallons.
The spill will be contained in the Hanapēpē storm drain system, which will be adequately disinfected.
