The Department of Public Works says a portion of Awawa Road from Akea Road will be closed May 9th and 10th from 8 AM to 2 PM, with a break from 11 to noon, weather permitting. The necessary lane closures will allow the County of Kauai Roads Division, in conjunction with the state of Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources to conduct necessary tree cutting and tree removal work. Only local traffic will be allowed for those needing to access their properties, however be advised of long delays as crews cut and process overhanging trees and branches.
