The Hawaii Department of Transportation will start daytime closures on a section of Kuhio Highway for improvements. Seabird fallout season, when young birds leaving the nest to feed in the ocean can become disoriented by artificial light, is causing crews to move work during the day. Daytime work is scheduled starting October 24th between the hours of 8:30 am and 3:30 pm. There will be three phases for improvements to northbound Kuhio Highway and two southbound phases.
