The search for a missing California man was suspended Wednesday afternoon. After a four-day, multiagency search effort, 56-year-old Prakash Schroff has been reported as Kauai’s 12th drowning of 2022. According to a preliminary report, Shroff was swimming with two family members on Christmas day when they became distressed. Two people made it to shore safely with the help of bystanders, but Shroff disappeared. A team of rescuers including Kauai firefighters, Ocean Safety Bureau officers, Kauai police, and others searched for Schroff until Wednesday.
