A man bitten by a tiger shark in a Hawaii Island bay fought off the animal with a knife according to authorities. Kauai Now News reports the 68 year old man sustained puncture wounds and was alert when he was hospitalized at North Hawaii Community Hospital in serious but stable condition. The man, whose name has not been released, said the shark was about 12 feet long. The incident reportedly happened about 300 yards offshore.
