Kauai Search and Rescue is getting 11 thousand dollars from local State Farm agents to pay for a drone program. The grant will allow for the development of drones, training for search and rescue teams, and for an integrated operations system in Kauai County. News outlets report the new program also provides first responders with thermal imaging technology for night operations when requested by an agency and equips the organization with the most advanced tools available to save lives, regardless of the time of day or weather conditions.
