A woman visiting from Idaho died after being pulled from waters off Lumaha’I Beach on Wednesday. First responders were dispatched to the beach for a swimmer in distress around 3 pm Wednesday. The victim had reportedly been swept out into deeper water after they had been swimming. Rescuers administered CPR until AMR medics arrived. The woman was taken to Wilcox Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Foul play is not suspected and an autopsy has been ordered.
