The West Kauai Energy Project can move forward after the completion of a four-year environmental review process has led to the state’s Finding of No Significant Impact. Kauai Now News reports The Chairperson of the Hawaiʻi State Department of Land and Natural Resources issued the finding following a review of a final environmental assessment submitted by Kauaʻi Island Utility Cooperative earlier this month. The review found the project “will not have a significant effect on the environment and therefore does not require the preparation of an EIS, or Environmental Impact Statement.”
