Wilcox Medical Center in Līhuʻe is one of three Hawai‘i Pacific Health medical centers to receive the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines-Stroke quality achievement award. Kauai Now reports The award honors the medical centers’ commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines, which ultimately leads to more lives saved and reduced disability.
Damage assessment continues in the wake of a historic south swell last weekend, part of the remnants of Hurricane Darby. Parts of Ho’one Road in Po’ipu were damaged but Mayor Kawakami says crews were able to quickly make the necessary repairs. The county will continue providing details and updates about other repairs that are ongoing. The high surf advisory for south facing shores has been canceled and beachgoers are urged to be extra cautious.
