The National Weather Service has issued a Fire Weather Watch for the leeward areas of Kauai County that’s in effect from noon today through 6 pm tomorrow. According to the National Weather Service, the combination of dry fuels, strong and gusty trade winds, and low relative humidity could produce extreme fire behavior today and Friday. Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly and be difficult to control. Outdoor burning is not recommended. For weather updates visit weather.gov/hfo
