Governor Josh Green approved the use of 33 million dollars in state funds for the Broadband Equity Access and Development grant program. Eight programs will be funded with the grant which officials say will have an impact on ensuring Hawaii’s goal toward universal broadband access statewide. Total funding for the program is just over 205 million dollars. The BEAD grant is part of a national $42.45 billion high-speed internet infrastructure program funding for 50 U.S. states and territories.
