The Kauai Fire Department is collaborating with the Kauai Emergency Management Agency with comprehensive communications training this week. They’ll be using the Compact Rapid Deployable, or CRD system. Officials say the system is crucial for enabling communication among first responders and emergency dispatchers. The CRD is also capable of multi-day searches and rescues in remote areas.
