Hawaii residents affected by the Kona-low storms earlier this year should note that the deadline to apply for disaster unemployment assistance is drawing near. Those who became unemployed or experienced reduced, delayed, or interrupted work hours due to the storms between March 10 and 24 must submit their claims to the state Department of Labor and Industrial Relations by June 15.
