Kauai firefighters battled two structure fires on Wednesday. The first fire reported was in a two-story residence near Anini Beach. When fire crews arrived, fire was showing from the second floor. Damage estimated at more than $1.4-million to the structure and $75,000 to the contents of the home. The second fire was in Kapa’a and firefighters found heavy black smoke in the living room on arrival. The fire extended to the garage of the structure. Damage estimated at more than $300-thousand. No injuries reported in both fires. KFD Fire Prevention Bureau investigators are working to determine the cause of both fires.
