Surfrider Kauai’s Blue Water Task Forces reporting 11 sites around the island with levels of fecal bacteria that exceeds the state’s recreational water quality standards. The elevated levels could indicate that harmful pathogens could be present in the water. Locals say “If the water’s brown, turn around.”
