Kauai Chamber of Commerce will hold it’s 12th Annual Mayor’s Event to honor outgoing Kauai Mayor Derek Kawakami. The event will be held on July 16 at the Royal Sonesta Kauai Resort. Mayor Kawakami is leaving the mayor’s office after eight years due to term limits. Kawakami filed to run for the Democratic nomination for lieutenant governor. The primary election is August 8.
