The Kaua’i Police Department (KPD) announces complimentary car seat safety checks throughout September. These events are organized in collaboration with Kaua’i Planning & Action Alliance and Hawai’i Department of Transportation.
The car seat safety check events will take place on the following dates, times, and locations:
- Tuesday, Sept. 8, 9 a.m. to noon in Wilcox Medical Centerʻs back parking lot, 3-3420 Kūhiō Highway in Līhuʻe. Appointments may be made by visiting https://bit.ly/4qSPJqv.
- Saturday, Sept. 12, 9 a.m. to noon in the area between Sudz Carwash and Gather Federal Credit Union, Kipuni Place in Kapa’a (cul-de-sac).
- Saturday, Sept. 26, 9 a.m. to noon in Target’s parking lot, 4303 Nāwiliwili Road in Līhuʻe.
Certified child passenger safety technicians will be on hand to inspect car seats at no cost. They will also be available to answer questions about car seat installation and demonstrate how to install and use them correctly. Community participation in these free events is highly encouraged.
