KPD Seeks Public’s Help Identifying Deceased Man in Kapaʻa

KAPA‘A – The Kauaʻi Police Department (KPD) is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man who was found deceased Wednesday morning in Kapaʻa.

On Sept. 2, 2026, at approximately 6:40 a.m., first responders were dispatched to a report of a deceased man found along the shoreline near Pono Kai Resort. The man is believed to be of Caucasian descent and in his 50s, approximately 6 feet tall and weighing about 180 pounds, with light-colored, balding hair. No other identifying marks were observed.

At the time he was found, the man was wearing jean shorts and a belt, but no shirt. He was transported to Wilcox Medical Center, where an autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death.

At this time, foul play is not suspected.
