A busy Memorial Day for the Kauai Fire Department. Two separate rescues of female hikers who sustained lower leg injuries. A 69-year-old from Arizona was rescued in Wailua. Fire crews then responded to a 40-year-old woman from Oklahoma who fell and sustained a leg injury. Kauai Fire Department’s Kapa’a, Waimea, and Hanapepe stations responded to the incidents along with Rescue 3 and American Medical Response.
