Aug. 20, 7:10 p.m., County of Kaua‘i, Wainiha brush fire
The Kaua‘i Fire Department is responding to a brush fire in Wainiha in the vicinity of Ananalu Road and Anahulu Road.
According to preliminary reports, there are no reports of damage to nearby structures and no reports of injuries. Approximately 100 acres have been burned by this fire.
The fire was reported on Thursday, August 20, shortly before 1:25 p.m.
Response
According to a preliminary report, crews have the fire under control. Firefighters will remain on scene to continue to mop up and perform overnight fire watch to monitor the area.
Assets
Personnel with the Hanalei fire station will remain on scene.
Personnel with the Kaiākea fire station, Kapaʻa fire station, Līhuʻe fire station, Tender 3, Engine 2, Air 1, Air 2, Air 3, and the Kaua‘i Police Department have been dismissed from the scene.
